Hi, Jim, this is Don Bissell's wife, Sue.  I just wanted to let  you know that Don passed away Jan. 15.  I don't know if he ever communicated that he had a motorcycle accident in 2005 that caused spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia.  His last 9 years have been very painful and difficult.  Your e-mails, especially the ones with humor, meant a lot to Don.  He credited his Navy service for making him the man he was.

I would appreciate it if you could let others that he served with know about his death.  He had a lot of good memories of his fellow radarmen aboard the Mahan DLG11.

This page is dedicated to the crew members and their mates who we have recently lost. The Officers and members of the USS MAHAN ASSOCIATION offer their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of these former shipmates and our friends.   "MAY GOD BE WITH ALL OF YOU".  May they all have fair winds and following seas!
